Experienced taught me that the best way to digitally change and transform a company is from inside. I was co-founder of Resilience Europe, a start-up focused on helping with modelling change in organizations, culture, and leadership to deal with complex transformations and changes. It was there that I experienced that the Digital Transformation of a company is a paradigm shift. This implies, in many cases, renewing the foundations on which the business is built, abandoning practices that were successful in the past, and systemically adopting a new operating model and culture that respond to multiple challenges, such as the need to move faster, being more agile and adapting quickly to market demands.

As Global CIO of the Yell Group (Yellow Pages) I lived on the frontier of the battle that resulted from Google’s entry into the media and advertising industry. We had to completely transform the business, its products, processes and capabilities in the different markets we operated in. This experience gave me a very solid foundation to be able, during my time at Gartner, to advise managers of the major companies in Spain and Portugal on how to approach digitalization and adopt the operating models and practices that successful digital native companies are using.

In my last stage at Gartner, before joining Revamp Advisors as a Strategic Advisor, I had the opportunity to lead Executive Programs in Iberia: a high-performance team made up of great professionals who are experts in the different areas of digitalization. With them I learned the importance of having a shared purpose in times of transformation and personal change. In my practice I always quote and apply this phrase from Peter Drucker: “The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence itself but acting with yesterday’s logic.”
